The southern tip of Phu Quoc, where Sunset Town wraps around the cable car station, the Kiss Bridge and the night-show theatre, with the calm east-coast beaches a short drive away.

What the area really is
An Thoi is the old port at the southern tip of the island. Next to it, Sunset Town is a newly built resort district organised around the Hon Thom cable car station and the seafront. Most of what families come for here is managed and ticketed: the bridge, the shows, the cable car. Around it, the southern coast has resort beaches at Bai Khem and the calm, popular beach at Bai Sao on the east side.
The Kiss Bridge is the area's signature. Designed by Marco Casamonti, built from 2021 and opened in December 2023, its two curved arms reach out over the sea and stop about 30 cm apart. The Kiss of the Sea theatre, which Sun World says holds a 2025 Guinness record as the largest outdoor theatre with a water-projection screen, stages a show of fire, water, light, 3D mapping and music by around 60 performers, ending in fireworks.
An Thoi also holds the Phu Quoc Prison relic, a special national relic about the island's wartime prison camp, open daily with free entry. Its content is heavy, and we do not include it in a family park day; parents with older children may choose to visit on their own.

Children under 1 metre are free at the bridge and at the night show. For the show, a child from 1 metre needs a seat; we found no separate child price in the sources we read.

How many nights
Two or three nights in the south let you put Hon Thom on the best-weather day and keep a separate evening for Kiss of the Sea, with a beach day at Bai Sao or Bai Khem between them. Staying in the south also puts you 20 to 30 minutes from the cable car instead of an hour or more from the north. One night works only if you accept the cable car and the night show on the same day, which makes a 14-hour day for children.
When to go
Our planning view, from the dry season (November to April), the rainy season (May to October), storm risk in July to September and April heat of 34–36 °C at midday. Parks open all year.
Sunset over the sea comes between about 17:40 in November and 18:31 in July; around 21 December it is about 17:49 and around 21 June about 18:29. The dry season gives the clearest skies. In the rainy season the east coast is the calm side, so Bai Sao and Bai Khem are the beaches to use; Bai Sao and Bai Truong have flag-marked swimming zones with lifeguards at peak hours.

Getting there
Sunset Town is about 20 to 30 minutes by car from Duong Dong or the airport. Buses between Duong Dong and An Thoi take about 40 to 50 minutes. Within Sunset Town, a free shuttle runs to the night market from 18:00 to 21:30 and a buggy costs 15,000 VND per person. Taxi firms at the airport include Mai Linh and Vinasun, and GrabCar can be booked in the app.

When to skip the south
- Your children are asleep by 19:30 and you are not doing the cable car. The south's best hours are evening hours.
- You want quiet. Sunset Town around sunset and show time is crowded.
- Your trip is short and you are based in the far north; the Grand World evening is closer.

Questions travellers ask most
Is Sunset Town worth visiting without the cable car?
Yes, for an evening: the bridge, the 17:00 water show, sunset and the night show fill four to five hours. By day, without the cable car, there is less for children.
Which beach in the south suits small children?
Bai Sao on the east coast has calm water and flag-marked swimming zones with lifeguards at peak hours. It is calm in the rainy months, when the west coast is rough.
Is the prison museum suitable for children?
It is a war relic about a prison camp, with heavy content. We leave it out of family park days; parents of older children can judge for themselves.
Does the night show run every day?
One August 2026 agency listing says daily except Tuesday; another says daily. We check your date before booking.
