Grand World is a free-to-enter district of canals and themed streets inside the northern resort complex. The complex is open around the clock; the shows, the boats and the museum are paid and run to their own schedules. It is busiest and best after dark, when the shows run back to back. That is also when small children are at their worst, so the plan is about timing: arrive with daylight, eat early, sit down for the big show, and leave at the lantern release unless the children are still going.

It suits families who have done a park day in the north and want a slower evening, and children from about five who can sit through a 45-minute show. It works as a stand-alone evening or added to the end of the VinWonders and Safari plan.

The evening, block by block

Day 1 · 16:00

Day 1 · 17:00

Teddy Bear Museum or a Venice boat

Two paid options before dark. The Teddy Bear Museum is an indoor, donut-shaped building of 2,162 m², which is useful on a hot or wet afternoon. The Venice boat takes you along the canal under the bridges. Both are listed at 200,000 VND for adults and 150,000 VND for children from 100 cm to under 140 cm (December 2025 page). The Bamboo Legend structure, built from bamboo poles over about 700 m², is free to look at.

Short free performances run in the early evening: a carnival at the Glass Bridge from 17:50 to 18:00 and an opera on the water from 18:00 to 18:10.

Day 1 · 18:30

Early dinner

Eat before the shows start, while tables are free. Eat inside the complex or bring a picnic for the car; we do not include dinner because families' tastes and budgets vary so much. A Mộc Huyền performance runs from 19:35 to 20:05 if you finish early.

Day 1 · 20:15

Tinh Hoa Viet Nam show and the lanterns

Lantern release at 21:00, straight after the show

The evening Tinh Hoa Viet Nam show runs from 20:15 to 21:00, 45 minutes in four parts. The evening show is listed at 300,000 VND for adults and 230,000 VND for children and seniors. The lantern release follows from 21:00 to 21:10.

Day 1 · 21:15

Leave, or stay for Venice

With children under about eight, this is the moment to go: the driver is waiting, and you are at the hotel by about 22:15 from Duong Dong. Older children can stay for the Sắc màu Venice show on the Love Lake from 21:30 to 22:00, which moves the drop-off to about 23:00. The laser show runs from 22:45.

Free VinBus routes end at Grand World: route 17 from the airport runs roughly from 04:00 to 03:10, and route 19 from the InterContinental via the airport runs from 06:35 to midnight, for holders of a VinWonders, Safari or Grand World ticket. Families staying near those stops can use them; we arrange the car for door-to-door timing late at night. Pricing is explained on the pricing page and the steps on how to book.

Late nights with small children

  • Give a late lunch and a nap before the 16:00 pickup; a child who slept at 14:00 lasts to 21:15.
  • Pack a light layer. Evenings by the canal are warm, but the car's air conditioning is cold for a sleeping child.
  • Agree a meeting point by the show entrance in case someone gets separated in the crowd after the lanterns.
  • Bring a small torch or glow band for each child; streets are lit but crowded after 21:00.

If it rains

Outdoor shows may be changed for weather, as the operator states. The Teddy Bear Museum is indoors, but a wet evening loses most of what Grand World is for. If heavy rain is forecast we move the evening to another night of your stay at no cost for the car, provided the show tickets can be changed.

Who this evening is not for

  • Babies and toddlers on an early bedtime. The best part starts at 20:15 and ends after 21:00.
  • Families staying in the far south. The drive each way is long; the Sunset Town evening is closer.
  • Anyone wanting a quiet evening. After dark the canals are crowded and loud.
  • Travellers who dislike replica townscapes. Grand World is a built resort district, not a historic town.

Pair it with

The evening works best after a morning in the north. See the Bai Dai and Ganh Dau area page for the layout, and Phu Quoc with children by age for how late each age copes.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Do we need tickets to enter Grand World?

No. Walking the canals and streets is free. You pay for the evening show, the museum, the boats and other attractions you choose.

How long do we spend at Grand World?

About four hours on site: free short performances at 17:50 and 18:00, dinner, the 45-minute evening show from 20:15 and the lanterns at 21:00. Staying for the Venice show adds another hour.

Can we leave before the show ends?

Yes. The driver waits for you whenever you come out. With tired children we would rather you leave at 20:45 than carry a crying child through the lantern crowd.

Can this be combined with a Safari morning?

Yes, but not on the same day for children under about eight: a Safari morning and a Grand World evening with no rest between them is too long. Put a hotel afternoon between the two, or do them on separate days.
