Sunset Town to Kiss of the Sea, one family evening

Sunset Town is the resort district at An Thoi in the south of the island, built around the cable car station. Its two evening pieces are the Kiss Bridge, two curved arms over the sea that stop about 30 cm apart, and the Kiss of the Sea, a night show of fire, water, light, 3D mapping and music with around 60 performers, ending in fireworks. In between come the 17:00 water show, sunset, and dinner.
The plan suits families who are not doing the cable car day, or who want a separate evening after it, with children who can stay awake to 21:30. Children under 1 metre go free at both the bridge and the show, which makes this one of the cheaper evenings for a family with a toddler, as long as the toddler sleeps in the car on the way home.

From the Duong Dong and Long Beach area, Sunset Town is about 20 to 30 minutes by car. We time the pickup so you reach the bridge just before 16:00.

Kiss Bridge before the price change
The 30 cm gap between the two arms
The bridge charges by time of entry: 50,000 VND from 07:00 to 16:00, 100,000 VND from 16:00 to 19:00, and 50,000 VND from 20:30 to 23:00; children under 1 m are free. Entering before 16:00 halves the cost for a family and puts you on the bridge before it fills for sunset. The bridge was designed by the Italian architect Marco Casamonti and opened in December 2023.

Awaken Sea water show and sunset
Sunset from the bridge or the seafront
The Awaken Sea jet-ski and flyboard show runs in front of the bridge daily at 17:00, for about 15 minutes. Sunset over the sea falls between about 17:40 in November and 18:31 in July; around mid-January it is about 18:02. On 1 January the setting sun lines up with the gap between the arms.

Early dinner and a rest
Eat early, before the show crowd. Options range from Sunset Town's restaurants to the Vui Phết night market by the beach, open 16:00 to midnight with more than 100 stalls; a free shuttle runs from 18:00 to 21:30 and a buggy costs 15,000 VND per person. After dinner, the car is a quiet place for a 30-minute rest before the show.

Kiss of the Sea
Gates usually open 30 to 60 minutes before the show; arriving about 30 minutes early is enough. The show starts at about 21:00 and runs 25 to 30 minutes, in a theatre listed at 5,108 seats. The driver waits at an agreed point and you are back at a Duong Dong or Long Beach hotel by about 22:00.
One August 2026 agency listing says the show runs daily except Tuesday; another lists it daily. We check your date before booking and do not sell a Tuesday without confirmation.

No separate child price for Kiss of the Sea was published in the sources we read; children from 1 m are assumed to pay the seat price until the seller confirms otherwise. If you are doing the Hon Thom day as well, its standard ticket already includes a Kiss Bridge visit with a drink, so this evening's bridge ticket can be dropped.

Weather and cancellations
Both shows are outdoors. The schedule may change because of weather or operations, as the seller states, and the operator decides on the night. If the night show is cancelled before you leave the hotel, we move the evening to another night of your stay if seats are available, or refund the show tickets as far as the seller refunds them. If it is cancelled after you arrive, the car still brings you home at the agreed time. July to September can bring storms with heavy rain; the dry months from November to April give the clearest sunsets.

Who this evening is not for
- Children who are scared of loud bangs. The show ends with fireworks.
- Families who want to be home by 20:00. Without the night show, the bridge and sunset alone make a shorter evening; choose the bridge-only option.
- Travellers staying in the far north near Ganh Dau with young children; the drive home after 21:30 is long. The Grand World evening is closer.
- Anyone visiting on a Tuesday without flexibility, until the show day is confirmed.

Questions travellers ask most
Can we do the Hon Thom day and the Kiss of the Sea on the same day?
It is possible, since both are in Sunset Town, but with children under about ten it makes a 14-hour day. We prefer a hotel rest between them: go home after the cable car and come back for the show the next evening.
Where should we sit for the night show?
Seating areas differ in price, from about 750,000 to 1,000,000 VND on one August 2026 listing. With toddlers, an aisle seat makes a quick exit easier.
Is the bridge suitable for a pushchair?
The bridge is a walkway, but it can be crowded around sunset. A sling or carrier is easier for babies from about 17:00.
What happens on 1 January?
The setting sun lines up with the gap between the bridge's two arms. We expect that evening to be busy and suggest asking well ahead.
